Glow In The Dark Genuine Sea Glass Pendant

Genuine sea green beach glass that is ready to wear and make a statement. This sea glass was glazed with a clear glaze that glows in the dark. It only need a little light (natural or artificial) to rev it up and it will glow green in the dark! (My camera is not sophisticated enough to capture the image. I will try and borrow one soon). The added benefit of the glaze is that the piece looks like it was freshly picked from the sea. It is a subtle difference from the non glazed sea glass, it just gives it a less chalky look that dried seaglass can sometimes have.

Wether worn with jeans, a summer outfit, or a little back dress, it is a fun, funky pirce to wear. The piece has been organically wire wrapped with silvered copper~ no tarnishing or polishing to worry about. (If you live near the sea, sterling silver can be a real pain the way it reacts with the salty air!!) This piece will appear lighter or darker depending on the light & what it is up against :

Chalkboard Wine Glasses

2 oversized round wine glasses. Each has multiple layers of chalkboard paint that have been hand painted around the base. These make a fun hostess of christmas gift. For a hostess, simply write "Thank" on one glass and "You" on another! Now you no longer have to worry wich wine glass is yours when you can simply write your name on your glass!

Message ON a Bottle

A message ON a bottle is much more effective than a message in a bottle! A versatile and fun gift for a guy or a girl. An upcycled, recycled beer bottle (thoroughly washed, in this case it was a Guinness Extra Stout) carefully painted with 2 layers of black chalkboard paint and then primed. Ready for a funny note, an inspirational word, or a weird drawing. Also doubles as a vase! Perfect cottage chic addition to a kitchen, living room, or fun table decoration. A length of thin hemp is hung around the neck with a slip knot, so you can take it on or off as much as you like. There is a little nub of chalk tied to the end so you are ready to go and write your message on a bottle!

My Favorite Way To Save $$$$

Like most things I hear about online, I was skeptical about Ebates. Now my only regret is that I did not start using it sooner!  I am only posting about it now, after using it for several months, so that I can tell you with confidence that this is a great site.

Here is how it works.  It is completely, totally free. You sign up. Every time you shop online, you go to the store you want through Ebates.  By doing that, you get a % of your purchase back ever time you buy something~ no matter what additional coupon codes you use.  You also get great coupon deals, including double cash back deals.  You can receive your cash back multiple ways, including paypal & check.  As someone who is trying to save $$, I love the simplicity of this & highly recommend it.

There are two ways of spreading the light, be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.

Baby Kisses :)

I love this video for a couple of reasons..  For one, it is my son & daughter :)  I also love it because it shows how well they "get each other".  My son has CP and is blind.  My daughter knows to lean in close so he can see her better & touch her face.  My son also knows that when she leans all the way in, that is her way of asking for a kiss.  I finally had my video camera on hand to capture a bit of them together.

Life At The Beach

"At the beach, life is different.
Time doesn't move hour to hour,

but mood to moment.
We live by the currents, plan by the tides,
and follow the sun."

New Listings to the Beach Stone Series

A little about the Eternal Wave or Spiral Symbol:

The spiral stands for coming into being. In various mythologies the spiral is a globally positive symbol. Some consider the spiral a symbol of the spiritual journey. It is also considered to represent the evolutionary process of learning and growing. It seems that life doesn't proceed in a straight line. The path of life more closely resemble a spiral. We seem to pass the same point over and over again but from a different perspective each time. To walk and then stand in the center of a spiral or labyrinth has been a psycho-spiritual exercise for centering the consciousness. The spiral shows up often in nature - in hurricanes and tornados, in the pattern of seeds in a sunflower, in the growing tips of ferns, in the pattern that leaves grow on a stem, in the shape of a nautilus shell, and, as a helix, the shape of the DNA molecule.

This is the smaller version :)

Mermaids

I could not find a mermaid pattern to knit a mermaid so I have been creating my own.  I have a few new styles I still want to try, but here are a couple.  The smaller one was knit using size 1 needles... It is kind of like knitting with 2 sewing needles~ they are tiny!

Featured Artist: Pseudooctopus

I would like to introduce you all to a lovely person and artist.  Her name is Georgia and she is the artist behind Pseudooctopus on Etsy.  She makes beautiful, unique, and whimsical artwork.  My all time favorite work of Georgia's is this one called "Enchanted Moon".

For me, this piece holds so much feeling and beauty.  It brings me back to my childhood, growing up in Pennsylvania.. Love this!!

I asked Georgia if she could share a little bit about herself.  I love how she describes nature, reality, magic, & how they all can blend together.. she describes so well what personally draws me to her work.  For me, looking at her art, is like stepping into a picture book.. I can see the story unfold in my head as I look at her work.

In Georgia's own words:

"I grew up in Rhode Island surrounded by the forest and the beach, and hence many of my works are framed by sky, water, or trees. When I draw and paint I tend to focus more on what I would like reality to be than what it is, and I tell myself stories as I scribble away. When sketching an Octopus reading a book and enjoying a cup of tea, I'm envisioning the moment just after, when his underwater doorbell rings and he must put his book aside and lumber down a sea coral hallway on all eight tentacles grumbling in a drift of bubbles. I love the blend of nature and storybook, bears taking to bicycles, hedgehogs remembering their umbrellas, penguins testing flight with balloons. The people I draw have often accidentally stumbled upon strangeness and are either encountering this nature-magic, or magic themselves. It's rare that I draw from life, because I feel like there are plenty of paintings of fruit in bowls and far too few of owls knitting socks!

These days I live with my fiancee (I'm getting used to saying that, I was just proposed to on St. Patrick's day last week!) and our many pet rodents and cats which serve as constant muses for the creatures in my work."

Congrats on your engagement, Georgia! We all wish you much happiness :)

Here are a few of my other favorite pieces.. be sure to check out Pseudooctocpus & find which ones move you!!
